In a significant development for academic collaboration in South Asia, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has announced the initiation of the Pak-Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Programme. This groundbreaking initiative aims to foster professional linkages between universities in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, enhancing academic and cultural exchange in the region.
Key Features of the Programme:
Faculty Exchange Visits: The programme supports annual faculty exchange visits for up to two weeks. These visits are designed to enable participants to engage in a variety of academic activities, including teaching, participating in international curricula, research seminars, conferences, and collaborations.
Cultural and Academic Enrichment: Faculty members will have the opportunity to explore cultural, regional, and historical values of bilateral interest. This aspect of the programme is aimed at increasing people-to-people contact and understanding between the two nations.
Funding and Support: The initiative provides comprehensive support for the participating faculty members. This includes boarding and lodging, which will be facilitated by the host university. Additionally, the programme covers economy class return airfare, funded by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, Pakistan. A daily allowance is also part of the package.
Eligibility and Application Process:
Nationality: Applicants must be Pakistani or Sri Lankan nationals.
Employment Status: Applicants should be full-time faculty members of renowned public/private universities or degree-awarding institutes in Pakistan or Sri Lanka.
Invitation Requirement: An invitation letter from the host university or degree-awarding institute is mandatory.
NOC Requirement: A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the parent university or degree-awarding institute is required.

Selection Criteria:
