Benefits

The CEDPS Academic Excellence Scholarship provides financial support as follows:

1. The scholarship amount is £2,000 per year for up to three years for a full-time course.
2. For sandwich courses, the scholarship is available for three years, excluding the placement year.
3. Payment is made in three instalments per year:
4. First instalment: 12 December 2025
5. Second instalment: 27 February 2026
6. Third instalment: 16 May 2026
7. Payments will be made directly to a UK bank account, and students must provide accurate bank details through their eVision account.
8. The scholarship will be placed on hold during any placement year and reinstated upon return to study.
9. To retain the scholarship in subsequent years, students must maintain an Upper Second Class (2:1) profile.

Eligible Nationalities

This scholarship is open to applicants of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the CEDPS Academic Excellence Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Must hold an unconditional firm offer of a place on a full-time undergraduate course within the College of Engineering, Design & Physical Sciences (CEDPS) at Brunel University London. This includes integrated Master’s programs but excludes Foundation courses.
2. The offer must be for FHEQ Level 4 (Year 1).
3. The scholarship applies to students commencing their course in the upcoming academic year (2025/26).
4. Must meet specific academic qualifications:
5. A Levels: AAB or above
6. International Baccalaureate Diploma: 33 points or above
7. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma: DDD* or above
8. Scottish Advanced Highers: AAB or above
9. Irish Leaving Certificate: Grades H2, H2, H2, H3, H3
10. Only students commencing studies in the upcoming academic year are eligible. Deferred entries will be reconsidered in the year of actual commencement.
11. The scholarship is automatically considered based on the UCAS application, and there is no need for a separate application.

Application Procedure

The CEDPS Academic Excellence Scholarship requires no separate application. Students will be automatically considered based on the details submitted with their undergraduate application to Brunel University London.

1. Applications are assessed starting from July 2025, and the final decision will be made by the Scholarship Allocation Panel by late September 2025.
2. Successful applicants will receive confirmation by email.
3. Applicants must meet all conditions of their course offer and accept the offer firmly to be considered for the scholarship.
4. The Scholarship Allocation Panel’s decision is final, and no appeals will be accepted.

Important Considerations

1. Students entering courses through UCAS Clearing will also be automatically considered, provided they notify the Student Loans Company (SLC) promptly.
2. Applicants holding offers for Foundation year, Year 2, or Year 3 entry, or those progressing from Brunel Pathway College (BPC) are not eligible.
3. Only one scholarship or bursary is awarded per student per year. If eligible for multiple awards, the most financially beneficial scholarship will be granted.
4. If a student changes their course or attendance mode, the scholarship may be withdrawn.
5. Students who fail to maintain the required academic performance will lose the scholarship in subsequent years.
