What you'll study

This programme emphasises rigorous empirical training across core areas of experimental psychology. You will take advanced courses in research methods and statistics, laboratory-based seminars in cognitive, social, developmental or affective psychology, and specialised modules in psychophysiology or cognitive neuroscience depending on faculty offerings.

• Core research methods — experimental design, measurement theory, reproducibility and ethical conduct of research.
• Advanced statistics — multivariate analysis, linear mixed-effects models, Bayesian approaches and power analysis for experimental work.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold a bachelor’s degree (or recognised equivalent) in psychology or a closely related discipline, with a strong academic record. Prior coursework in statistics and undergraduate research experience are highly desirable because the programme is research-intensive.
