Hands-on practical work is central to the curriculum: you will work in on-campus teaching laboratories using clinical instruments and assays and complete supervised clinical practicums at partner healthcare facilities. The programme also covers laboratory management, regulatory and ethical issues, and opportunities to undertake a capstone or research project in applied clinical science.

Applicants are expected to hold a secondary-school qualification equivalent to high school graduation with strong preparation in science and maths. Typical prerequisites include courses in biology and chemistry; anatomy, physiology, or microbiology are advantageous. Admissions favour applicants with practical laboratory experience or relevant healthcare exposure.

Because of the clinical placement component, candidates must be able to meet standard health and background screening requirements and provide proof of required immunisations prior to practicum enrolment.
