This programme emphasises quantitative and qualitative tools for analysing public policy problems and assessing the impact of policy options. Core topics typically include policy analysis and development, research design and methods, programme evaluation, economics for public policy, public budgeting and finance, and ethics and governance. Students also study advanced data-analysis techniques used in policy work, such as statistics, cost–benefit analysis and performance measurement.

Coursework is built around applied learning: students commonly complete policy briefs, evaluation plans and stakeholder analyses, and culminate their study with a practicum or capstone project that addresses a real-world policy issue.
