What you'll study

The PhD curriculum emphasises the development of independent research capacity, theoretical grounding in nursing science and advanced quantitative and qualitative methods. Applicants are expected to be registered nurses and normally hold a relevant graduate degree in nursing (for example an MSN or equivalent). Strong candidates present evidence of academic readiness for doctoral work, which typically includes a solid academic record in prior graduate study, substantive clinical or research experience, and clear research interests that align with faculty expertise.
