What you'll study

The BSN curriculum combines foundational sciences, liberal‑arts general education and progressive nursing coursework to build clinical judgement, communication and leadership skills. Early study typically covers anatomy and physiology, microbiology, pharmacology and pathophysiology alongside coursework in psychology, ethics and statistics.

• Core nursing modules: health assessment, fundamentals of nursing, adult health and medical‑surgical nursing, maternal‑child nursing, paediatric nursing and mental‑health/psychiatric nursing.
• Advanced and specialised modules: community and public‑health nursing, clinical leadership and management, nursing informatics, and nursing research/evidence‑based practice.
• Practice and consolidation: supervised clinical rotations in acute care, community and outpatient settings, simulation lab experiences and a practicum or capstone project that may focus on administration, clinical practice improvement or a research question.

Students can expect integrated skills teaching (including patient assessment, medication administration and care planning), interprofessional learning with other health disciplines and opportunities to focus coursework or clinical projects on administration, nursing research methods or advanced clinical practice within the scope of the baccalaureate.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a high‑school diploma or equivalent; transfer students with an associate degree or prior college credit are considered with evaluation of prior coursework. Typical academic prerequisites include college‑level biology, chemistry and statistics or equivalent courses. Successful applicants will also meet general university admission standards and any programme progression criteria.

• Evidence of completed prerequisite courses with satisfactory grades and a competitive cumulative GPA.
• Current immunisations, basic life support (BLS) certification and consent to background checks and drug screening as required for clinical placements.
• Applicants may be asked for a personal statement, references and documentation of prior healthcare experience; some cohorts may require a standardised nursing entrance exam or programme interview.
• Registered nurses applying to an RN‑to‑BSN route will need an active RN licence and transcripts for prior nursing education; degree completion requirements differ from the traditional BSN pathway.
