What you'll study

This programme combines courses from international relations, economics, culture and ethics to explore how global processes shape societies and institutions. Core subjects typically include Introduction to Globalization, International Relations, Comparative Politics, Global Political Economy, and Research Methods in the Social Sciences. Students study transnational issues such as migration, development, trade, human rights, environmental governance and global security.

Complementary modules often include Cultural Anthropology, Global Communications, Ethics and Global Justice, and regional studies (for example Latin America, Europe, Africa or Asia). Language study is encouraged to enhance employability and fieldwork options. The degree usually culminates in a senior capstone or research project and offers opportunities for internships, practicum placements or supervised study abroad to gain practical experience.

Entry requirements

Entry is at undergraduate (first‑degree) level. Applicants are expected to hold a recognised secondary school qualification and meet the university's general admission standards. Requirements normally include a demonstrated academic record, a personal statement explaining interest in international issues, and one or more references.

For applicants whose first language is not English, proof of English proficiency is required through a recognised test or alternative evidence as specified by the university. Mature applicants with relevant life or work experience are considered. Transfer students from other institutions are welcomed subject to credit‑transfer assessment.
