This interdisciplinary degree builds competence in Romance languages (commonly Spanish and/or French) alongside courses in linguistics and literature. Early semesters focus on language acquisition—elementary and intermediate language courses emphasising speaking, listening, reading and writing. Core linguistic modules introduce phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and sociolinguistics so you understand how Romance languages are structured and how they vary across communities.

Literature courses survey major traditions and genres, such as Peninsular Spanish literature, Latin American literatures, and Francophone literatures, with close-reading and contextual analysis.
