What you'll study

This programme combines broad historical training with specialised study of medieval and early modern Europe. Core courses in historical methods and historiography develop skills in source analysis, research design and historical writing. Concentration modules explore major themes such as medieval society and institutions, the Renaissance and Reformation, the rise of early modern states, cultural and intellectual history, religion and ritual, gender and family life, art and material culture, and the history of science.
