What you'll study

The programme combines core criminal justice theory with applied coursework in correctional practice, policy and offender rehabilitation. Students study foundational subjects such as criminology, criminal law, constitutional law, and research methods, alongside corrections-specific topics including probation and parole, institutional corrections, community-based corrections, and assessment and treatment of offenders.

• Electives and interdisciplinary options – juvenile justice, substance abuse and treatment, forensic psychology, social work and public policy courses to tailor study to career aims.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Admission considers academic preparation, strength of secondary school record and supporting materials such as a personal statement and letters of recommendation. Transfer students may be admitted with college-level credit subject to evaluation.

Because field placements often involve work with vulnerable populations and interaction with criminal justice agencies, some placements require a background check and immunisations in accordance with host agency policies. International applicants should demonstrate English language proficiency through recognised testing or prior study in English.
