What you'll study

The MSW curriculum combines core courses in advanced social work practice, human behaviour, policy and research with extensive field practicum placements. Career prospects

Graduates enter a wide range of practice settings, including mental health and substance use treatment centres, hospitals and health systems, child welfare agencies, schools, community non-profits, and government social services. Common roles include clinical social worker, case manager, school social worker, child and family therapist, hospital social worker, program coordinator or policy analyst.

The MSW is the standard professional degree for clinical practice and is typically required for state licensure as a clinical social worker (licensure requirements vary by state and usually include supervised post-graduate clinical hours and an exam).
