The MSW curriculum focuses on evidence-informed practice, social policy, research methods and advanced clinical skills. Programme structure

The programme is offered in full‑time and part‑time formats, with an advanced standing route available for graduates of CSWE-accredited BSW programmes. Full‑time students typically complete the standard track in two years, while advanced standing students may complete requirements in an accelerated timeframe. Field placements are sequenced across terms to build from foundational to advanced practice competencies.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Candidates with a Bachelor of Social Work from a CSWE-accredited programme may be eligible for advanced standing. Typical application materials include academic transcripts, a personal statement of purpose, a current résumé or CV, and professional or academic references.

Selection decisions consider prior academic performance, relevant professional or volunteer experience, and fit with the programme’s mission. Additional requirements for practicum participation may include background checks, immunisation records, a valid driver’s licence for some placements, and proof of professional liability insurance where applicable.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for a range of careers in clinical and non‑clinical social work. With appropriate post‑graduate supervised experience, MSW graduates may pursue licensure as a clinical social worker (licensing requirements vary by state).
