This programme provides a foundation in biological, chemical and physical sciences as they relate to environmental health, together with applied skills in monitoring, assessment and management. Core topics typically include environmental health principles, environmental toxicology, microbiology for public health, air and water quality, waste management, environmental sampling and analysis, epidemiology, occupational health and safety, environmental law and policy, risk assessment, and geographic information systems (GIS).

Coursework combines classroom lectures, laboratory classes and field exercises. Students gain practical experience in environmental sampling methods, analytical techniques, data interpretation and report writing.
