What you'll study

The programme is organised around intensive, discussion-led seminars and research-led coursework that span the humanities and liberal arts. Entry requirements

Applicants normally hold a good bachelor's degree in the humanities, social sciences or a closely related field. Admissions typically assess the academic transcript, a statement of purpose outlining your intellectual goals and proposed area of study, and two or three letters of recommendation from academic or professional referees. A written sample demonstrating analytical and critical skills — for example, a seminar essay or undergraduate dissertation chapter — is usually required.

Standardised tests (such as the GRE) are sometimes optional and assessed on a case-by-case basis; international applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of English language proficiency through recognised tests unless exempt. Professional experience in cultural sectors can strengthen an application for applicants coming from non-academic backgrounds.
