What you'll study

The programme is typically structured over four years and combines core computer science theory with hands-on laboratory work, project-based learning and industry placements. Core topics cover programming and software development, data structures and algorithms, discrete mathematics, computer architecture and operating systems. Students also study databases, computer networks, software engineering and web and mobile application development.

Specialist and elective modules allow deeper study in areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, data science and big data, cybersecurity and digital forensics, human–computer interaction, embedded and IoT systems, and cloud computing. Practical elements include laboratory coursework, team software projects, a capstone design or research project, and opportunities for an internship or cooperative placement with industry partners.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold a recognised secondary school certificate (or equivalent such as IB, A-levels or foundation programmes) with strong attainment in mathematics; physics is an advantage. Typical requirements include evidence of competence in mathematics and logical reasoning. Selection may involve review of academic transcripts, entrance examinations and/or an interview.

International applicants will usually need to demonstrate English proficiency through recognised tests or previous study in English, unless admitted to a programme delivered in Thai. Some applicants may be admitted via preparatory or foundation routes if they do not meet direct-entry requirements.

Graduates are prepared for a broad range of technical and professional roles in both the private and public sectors. Common career paths include software developer or engineer, systems analyst, database administrator, network engineer, cybersecurity specialist, data analyst or data scientist, and mobile or web applications developer. With further study or experience, graduates can move into roles in AI research, machine learning engineering, DevOps and cloud architecture, IT consulting, product management, or start their own technology ventures.

Alumni also pursue postgraduate study (master’s and PhD) in specialised areas of computing and related interdisciplinary fields, or pursue careers in academia, government technology departments and research institutions.
