What you'll study

The program combines theoretical and applied study in educational leadership, policy, curriculum, and research methods. Core themes include leadership theory and practice, change management, curriculum design and assessment, data-informed decision making, human resource and financial management for schools, and contemporary policy and governance issues. The course offers a mix of coursework and a substantial capstone—either a professionally oriented project or a research thesis—allowing students to demonstrate leadership practice and evidence-based improvement in their workplace.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a recognised bachelor degree in education or a related discipline. Applicants with alternative undergraduate qualifications plus substantial professional experience in education may also be considered. Current registration or certification as a teacher is often desirable for candidates aiming for school leadership positions.

Selection commonly considers academic records and professional experience; applicants may be asked to provide a curriculum vitae and a statement of intent outlining leadership responsibilities and goals.
