• Foundations of Supervision: principles and models of supervision, roles and responsibilities, and frameworks for supporting staff performance.
• Professional and Clinical Supervision Practice: techniques for reflective supervision, case discussion, feedback, and supporting clinical decision‑making (content tailored to your profession).
• Leadership, Ethics and Professional Standards: legal, ethical and accountability issues in supervision, boundary management and culturally safe practice.
• Workplace Performance and Development: coaching, performance appraisal, managing difficult conversations, team development and creating learning cultures.

Learning is practice‑oriented and commonly includes applied assessments such as supervision plans, reflective journals, observed or workplace‑based supervision activities, and case analyses. Delivery modes frequently include on‑campus seminars, online study and workplace application to support working professionals.

Entry requirements

Admission typically requires a recognised bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline, or substantial professional experience in a supervisory or senior practitioner role. Applicants who do not hold a degree but have significant managerial or clinical experience may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.

Prospective students should be currently employed in a professional context where they can apply supervision learning; some units assume access to a workplace for practical tasks. International applicants must meet ACU’s English language requirements.
