The Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies 2025 offer fully funded scholarships for international students, teachers, translators, interpreters, and academics interested in learning Czech language and culture. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies scholarship, applicants must:
Be at least 18 years old
Be nominated by a Czech embassy, ministry, or partner institution in their home country
Have an interest in Czech language, culture, literature, and history
Possess beginner to advanced Czech language skills (A0 to C1 levels available)
Application Procedure
A two-step selection process applies for Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies 2025.
Step 1: Nomination Process (March 31, 2025)
Applicants must apply through the Czech embassy or designated partner institution in their country.
Submit a completed application form (Available in DOCX and PDF)
Attach a Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English or Czech
Some institutions may require additional documents (e.g., motivation letter, language certificates)
Applicants must confirm availability for the full course duration
Step 2: Registration & Selection
Nominated candidates must register online with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS)
Applications are reviewed by the MEYS and Czech universities
Selected applicants receive a scholarship award or placement on a waiting list
Important: Applications sent directly to Czech universities or MEYS without proper nomination will be rejected.
Scholarship Selection Process
Nominees: Selected through Czech embassies or partner institutions
Substitutes: Additional candidates placed on a waiting list
Final Selection: Conducted by MEYS and Czech universities
Successful candidates receive official invitations from the respective Summer School
Important Considerations
Health Insurance: Not included in the scholarship. Participants must arrange travel health insurance before arriving in the Czech Republic.
Visa Requirements: Non-EU/EEA applicants must apply for a student visa well in advance.
Scholarship Placement: MEYS reserves the right to assign candidates to a different Summer School if necessary.
Self-Funded Participation
