Language Support:
Online Language Course: DAAD will pay for an online language course after you receive your scholarship award letter. This is to help you improve your German before your stay.
Preparatory Language Course (Optional): DAAD may offer a 2, 4, or 6-month language course in Germany before your research starts. They'll decide based on your current German skills and project needs. If your scholarship includes a language course and the research requires German, participation is mandatory.
In-Country Language Course Allowance: You can choose to take a German language course during your research stay in Germany, and DAAD will reimburse the cost.
Test Fees: DAAD will cover the cost of taking a TestDaF or DSH test, which measures your German proficiency. You can take this test in your home country after receiving your award letter or in Germany during your stay.
Certificates, proof of credits, certifications and translations may be scanned in non-certified form and uploaded to the DAAD portal. The DAAD reserves the right to request certified copies of the documents.
