Are you an early or mid-career scholar from India working in the arts, heritage, or humanities? Here's a prestigious opportunity to enhance your academic journey with international exposure. The Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT) Visiting Fellowship 2025–26, in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Global Cultures Institute at King’s College London, is now accepting applications.

This three-month fully funded fellowship supports Indian scholars to undertake focused research in a world-class academic environment, develop collaborations, and engage with a vibrant research community in London.

Degree Level

King’s College London UK Charles Wallace India Trust Visiting Fellowship 2025 is available to undertake Fellowship level programs at King’s College London.

  • Humanities

Benefits

The selected CWIT Fellow will receive:

  1. £700 towards return airfare to the UK
  2. £1,600 per month to cover living expenses (for 3 months)
  3. A workspace at the Global Cultures Institute or Faculty of Arts and Humanities
  4. Full access to King’s College library, internet, and office resources
  5. Research networking opportunities with King’s faculty member

Note: Visa fees and accommodation are not included. However, accommodation guidance will be provided by the university.

Responsibilities of the Fellow

  1. Engage in research development during the fellowship
  2. Participate in academic life at King’s, including seminars and workshops
  3. Present a research seminar at the Faculty or Global Cultures Institute
  4. Initiate or develop collaborative projects with King’s faculty


Eligible Nationalities

This scholarship is open to Indian citizens only.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Be Indian nationals currently residing in India
  2. Hold a PhD and be in full-time employment at a university or research institution in India
  3. Be in the early or mid stages of their academic career
  4. Have no prior experience of research outside India (preferred)
  5. Not have received CWIT support in the last 5 years
  6. Not hold any other fellowships concurrently
  7. Disclose any pending fellowship applications


Application Procedure

Applicants must submit the following documents via email to CWIT@kcl.ac.uk by 7 May 2025:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  2. Research Proposal (up to 3000 words)
  3. Statement of Intent: Outline your work plan and explain why King’s is an ideal academic fit
  4. One writing sample (published or unpublished)
  5. Two letters of recommendation (to be sent by referees directly to CWIT@kcl.ac.uk)

Note: Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Selection Process & Results

  1. Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview (via Zoom/Skype) in June 2025
  2. Final Notification: Results will be shared via email
