Makerere University, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, announces the renewal of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, propelling a transformative journey for young African minds until 2034. This visionary initiative aims to offer 1000 scholarships over 10 years, fostering inclusive education and nurturing future leaders poised to drive national and regional development.

Eligibility Criteria

General Requirements:

• Be admitted to Makerere University's main campus (undergraduate) or Master's program (graduates). Apply for admission to Makerere University first.
• Have completed the highest level of education required for your program (e.g., A-Levels for undergrad) in an African country.
• Face significant financial hardship.
• Demonstrate leadership potential and a history of community service.
• Not hold any other scholarships.
• Not be enrolled in or have completed another relevant degree program (undergrad or Master's).
• Be under the age limit:

1. 28 for general applicants (undergrad)
2. 32 for refugees and students with disabilities (undergrad)
3. 35 for general applicants (Master's)
4. 40 for refugees and students with disabilities (Master's)

• Refugees must be recognized and registered, with proof attached to the application.

Note: Only admitted students to Makerere University will be considered for the scholarship selection process.
