Named in honor of Emeritus Professor Odwyn Jones AO, a distinguished figure in Western Australian mining research and education, this scholarship offers exceptional candidates the opportunity to pursue a PhD at any university in Western Australia. With a scholarship value of up to $139,677, the program provides significant financial support, including a yearly stipend and research funding, to empower scholars in advancing innovative solutions for the mining sector. Applications are open to both domestic and international students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, research potential, and a compelling research proposal. The deadline for submission is September 30, 2024.
MRIWA Australia Odwyn Jones PhD Scholarship 2025 (Funding up to $139,677) is available to undertake PhD level programs at Australian Universities.

Scholarship Value: Funding up to $139,677
This scholarship is open to all suitably qualified applicants, both domestic and international.
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit, with applicants judged on proven academic record, individual research potential, and the quality of a detailed research proposal submitted along with their application.
Subject to a successful applicant’s ongoing acceptance and compliance with the terms and conditions, stipend payments totalling $40,739 per year will be made on a fortnightly basis.
