This scholarship program, offered in collaboration with the Universidad Ana G. About the Partners: 

The OAS General Secretariat (GS/OAS) is the central and permanent organ of the Organization of American States (OAS). Through its Department of Human Development, Education, and Employment (DHDEE), GS/OAS supports OAS member states in creating policies and executing programs that promote human capacity development at all educational levels. By enabling formative opportunities for citizens, DHDEE strengthens democratic values and security within the framework of regional integration. DHDEE achieves this by supporting efforts to improve the quality and equity of education and assisting citizens in realizing their full potential through access to knowledge and skills that enhance the standard of living for individuals, families, and communities in the region.

The Universidad Ana G. Méndez (UAGM) is a non-profit institution that has been in operation since 1949. It is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and licensed by the Board of Postsecondary Institutions of Puerto Rico (JIP). UAGM has three main campuses and nine university centers around the island. Additionally, it owns the only television channel in Puerto Rico affiliated with the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in the United States. The university offers flexible programs designed to prepare professionals in their respective fields of study.

Degree Level

Puerto Rico OAS-UAGM Scholarship 2024 in USA is available to undertake Bachelor, Masters, PhD level programs at Universidad Ana G. Méndez.

• 50% tuition waiver for Scholarship Recipients from Ana G. Méndez University On-site 
•  The OAS shall cover a one-time tuition allowance of USD $4,000 to the first 15 students that enroll in the programs to help defray the cost of tuition only in the first year of study.

Eligibility Criteria

• New Applicants from OAS Member States: This scholarship is open to students who are new applicants to the program and are citizens or permanent legal residents of an OAS member state (excluding the United States).
• Specific Requirements for Argentina: Applicants from Argentina must submit an additional form through the provided link: http://www.oas.org/en/scholarships/PAEC/2018/NOTA-SOLICITUD-DGCIN-2017.doc. Please submit this form to the National Liaison Office (ONE) in Argentina.

Who is Not Eligible:

• Current scholarship holders with the OAS or those who are citizens/permanent residents of the United States.
• Staff members (GS/OAS) and their immediate family members, including consultants.
• Permanent officials of the OAS and their immediate family members.

• Admission Required for Scholarship Consideration: Only applicants who are admitted to UAGM will be considered for the scholarship.
