Benefits

The scholarship provides varying amounts based on the level of study. 

Undergraduate Students: 

The scholarship is granted for three years with the following options: 

  •  €14,720 per year 
  •  €9,500 per year 
  •  €6,500 per year 

During the third-year abroad program, scholarship recipients will continue to receive tuition support. 

Master’s Students: 

 A tuition grant of €13,100 per year is awarded for two years, covering a portion of the program fees. 

 Key Terms: 

  •  The scholarship is renewable annually, provided academic standards are maintained. 
  •  If admission is deferred, the scholarship will be canceled. 
  •  Failure to complete the academic year results in the loss of the scholarship.

Eligible Nationalities

This scholarship is open to international students from Non EU/EEA Countries.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Émile Boutmy Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a first-time applicant (for undergraduate or master’s programs).
  • Be from a non-EU country, with a household that does not file taxes within the European Union.
  • Have secured admission to one of Sciences Po’s eligible programs.

Ineligible Applicants:

  • Citizens of Switzerland and Norway (as they are eligible for CROUS scholarships).
  • Candidates with dual citizenship, where one nationality is from the EU.
  • Quebec residents applying for a master's program (eligible for undergraduate programs).
  • Applicants to the Master's in Journalism and International Affairs or one-year master's programs.
  • Students applying to joint or exchange programs (except for certain dual-degree programs with Chinese universities).

Selection Criteria

The Émile Boutmy Scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and alignment with the values of Sciences Po. Financial background may also be considered to ensure support reaches those in need.


Application Procedure

The Émile Boutmy Scholarship is not automatically awarded. Candidates must indicate interest in the “Financial Information” section of the Sciences Po application.

Undergraduate Applicants:

  • For students from foreign secondary schools, select the scholarship option during the application process.
  • Provide financial documents such as:
  1. Income tax returns
  2. Payslips
  3. Divorce certificates or retirement pension documents (if applicable)

Master’s Applicants:

  • Indicate interest in the scholarship within the application form.
  • Submit language test results (if applicable) along with relevant financial documents.

Applicants in Deferral:

  • Those who deferred admission can reapply if:The scholarship was not initially requested.
  • The scholarship was granted previously but lost due to deferral.
  • For deferral applicants, an email with a CV and financial details must be submitted via the contact form before the deadline.

Deadline:

  • Deadline for undergraduate programme (applicants from foreign secondary schools): 4 March 2025
  • Deadline for undergraduate programme (applicants from French secondary schools): to be confirmed
  • Deadline for master programme: 1 December 2024
  • No application requests will be accepted after the deadline.
