Shandong University (SDU) is proud to announce the launch of its Undergraduate Preparatory Scholarship Program for 2024, designed to prepare international high school graduates for undergraduate studies. This comprehensive program offers six months to one year of intensive training to enhance Chinese language proficiency and provide a robust academic foundation. The curriculum includes Chinese language courses, major preparation, professional Chinese language training, and HSK skill development, ensuring students are well-equipped for their future studies.

The program is open to Non-Chinese citizens in good health, with a high school diploma or equivalent. No prior Chinese language proficiency is required for the one-year program starting in September 2024, while an HSK 3 certificate is needed for the one-semester program beginning in February 2025. Scholarships, including the Chinese Government Scholarship, Shandong University Scholarship, and the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, are available for outstanding and top-performing students. Applications for the one-year program are accepted from March 15, 2024, to June 30, 2024, and for the one-semester program from October 15, 2024, to December 31, 2024.

Eligible Nationalities

This scholarship is open to international students of all nationalities. (Except Chinese)

Eligibility Criteria

1. Eligibility

• Applicants must be international students in good physical and mental health.
• Applicants should demonstrate a positive attitude towards China and hold a valid passport from their home country.
• Applicants must have a clean criminal record.
• Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.

2. Language Requirements

• Students applying for the full academic year program starting in September 2024 do not require prior Chinese language proficiency.
• Students applying for the one-semester program starting in February 2025 must submit an official HSK Level 3 certificate with a score exceeding 180.

3. Compliance

• This program adheres to the regulations outlined in the Ministry of Education's Notice on Regulating Admission of International Students in China's Higher Education Institutions.

Applying to SDU:

• Go Online: Submit your application electronically through the SDU Online Application System for International Students. Fill out all information and upload required documents. Paper applications are not accepted.

Application Deadlines:

• One-Year Program (Sept. 2024 - July 2025): Apply between March 15, 2024 and June 30, 2024.
• One-Semester Program (Feb. 2025 - July 2025): Apply between October 15, 2024 and December 31, 2024.

• The application system closes after the deadline. To avoid last-minute issues, aim to submit your application at least two weeks before the deadline.
