Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be non-Chinese citizens from Asia.
• Fulfill the admission requirements for international master’s students at Tsinghua University.
• Demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, integrity, and commitment to service.
• Have strong English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent required).
• Not be a recipient of any other scholarships for Tsinghua University.

Application Procedure

Follow these steps to apply:

• Apply for a full-time Master’s program at Tsinghua University via Tsinghua University’s online application portal from September 2024 to February 2025.
• Submit the AFLSP scholarship application materials via email to the respective department/school at Tsinghua University by February 28, 2025.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit:

• AFLSP Scholarship Application Form 2025 (including a three-minute video introduction).
• Certificate of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.).
• Academic transcripts in English (stamped by the university).
• A recommendation letter from an academic or professional institution.

Selection Process

• By March 24, 2025: Departments review applications and select candidates.
• By April 2025: Tsinghua University submits nominations to BXAI.
• By May 2025: BXAI finalizes selection and informs Tsinghua University.
• June 2025: Final scholarship results are announced.

Other Important Requirements

• Scholarship recipients must participate in BXAI’s mandatory programs.
• Students planning exchange or short-term studies abroad must inform BXAI.
• Second-year funding is conditional on satisfactory academic performance in the first year.
• Upon acceptance, recipients sign a commitment letter and become Bai Xian Scholars (BX Scholars).
