Tubitak Aziz Sancar Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program 2024 in Turkey is available to undertake Post Doctorate level programs at Turkey Universities.

Scholarship Details

• Amount: Researchers will receive a net stipend of USD 3,000 per year.
• Duration: The scholarship term is a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 24 months, as determined by TÜBİTAK.
• Payment: Stipends will be disbursed either monthly or quarterly directly to the recipient's bank account within or outside Turkey.

Postdoctoral Opportunity

Upon completion of the scholarship, recipients may have the opportunity to serve as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar's laboratory for up to 24 months, without additional financial support.

Flight Benefits

TÜBİTAK will provide a one-time round-trip flight ticket for the scholarship holder to cover the following:

• The scholar themselves.
• Spouse.
• Up to two children under 18 years old.
• One child under 12 years old accompanied by a designated caregiver (insured for at least one month).
• One parent, sibling, or spouse's sibling of the scholar or their spouse, if accompanying a child under 12 years old.

Eligible Nationalities

This scholarship is open to domestic students.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Citizenship: Be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey.
• Doctoral Degree: Have obtained a doctoral degree within the past seven years or be on track to complete it within six months of the scholarship start date.
• Research Alignment: The applicant's research topic must be closely related to the work of Professor Dr. Aziz Sancar.
• Language Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following:A minimum score of 65 on the YDS, e-YDS, or YÖKDiL within the past five years.
• An equivalent score on a foreign language exam accepted by ÖSYM within the past two years.
• An undergraduate or graduate degree from a Turkish institution where instruction is in English.
• An undergraduate or graduate degree from a foreign institution.

Application Procedure

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following:

• Completed application form
• Detailed academic curriculum vitae (CV) outlining the researcher's qualifications and previous research experience (theses, publications, etc.)
• Letter of intent clearly explaining how the candidate's research aligns with Professor Dr. Aziz Sancar's work and providing specific details about the proposed research project.
• Letter of approval from the thesis advisor confirming that the doctorate diploma or medical specialization certificate (as approved by the Ministry of Health) will be obtained within the next six months.
• Proof of language proficiency:

1. A valid YDS, e-YDS, or YÖKDİL score of at least 65 obtained within the past five years,
2. An equivalent score on a foreign language exam accepted by ÖSYM within the last two years, or
3. A diploma certifying undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate studies from a Turkish university with English as the language of instruction.
