Scholarship Description: The University of Sheffield is offering five fully funded PhD scholarships at the Faculty of Science. These scholarships are available to students from the UK and international students.
About University:Â The Faculty of Science is the home of science at the University of Sheffield. The seven departments span the life sciences, chemistry, physics and mathematics, and more than 90% of research is ranked world-leading or internationally excellent in the Research Excellence Framework 2014.

Degree Level:Â Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD programme.
Available Subject:Â Scholarships are awarded in the following departments: Animal and Plant Sciences, Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Physics and Astronomy and Psychology.
Scholarship Benefits:Â These scholarships are fully funded.
Number of Scholarships:Â There are five fully funded PhD scholarships available.
Eligible Nationalities:Â UK, EU or overseas students can apply for these scholarships.
Entrance Requirements:Â University welcome applications from students with excellent degrees from UK, EU or overseas institutions. Minimally, applicants should hold or be about to obtain, an upper second class (2:1) degree from a UK university, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised EU or overseas institution. Studentships will be awarded competitively, so relevant research experience and/or Masters level degree qualifications will be significant enhancements. Studentships will pay the equivalence of a standard RCUK stipend and Home, EU or overseas fees as appropriate.

- Part 1 is for personal information, including English language ability, and previous education and employment. You have to complete all of the mandatory fields in this part (marked with a *) before you can go on to Part 2.
- Part 2 is where you select the postgraduate research project you want to apply for. You can apply for a total of three âstandard PhDâ projects. To be considered for these fully funded opportunities please select â the University of Sheffield Scholarshipâ in the âFundingâ section. You will then be asked to fill in an additional âScholarship Applicationâ, where you should select âUniversity scholarshipsâ.

Applications for 2018/19 entry are now open, the closing date is Wednesday 24 January 2018. Late applications can not be accepted.
