These scholarships, one for UK students valued at £34,225 and another for international students valued at £56,525, are designed to increase accessibility and enhance the diversity of underrepresented groups in the field of computer science. The DeepMind scholarship program offers two awards: one for UK students and another for international students.

UK Scholarship:

This scholarship covers a total value of £34,225, including:

  • Full tuition fees: £11,340
  • Living stipend: £18,985 paid in installments throughout your studies
  • Conference grant: Up to £2,200 to attend an AI/Machine Learning conference
  • Equipment grant: £1,700 for essential equipment (e.g., laptop)

International Scholarship: 

This scholarship is valued at £56,525, encompassing:

  • Full tuition fees: £31,410
  • Living stipend: £19,345 paid in installments throughout your studies
  • Conference grant: Up to £2,200 to attend an AI/Machine Learning conference
  • Equipment grant: £1,700 for essential equipment (e.g., laptop)
  • Relocation assistance: £1,870 to help with moving costs

Eligible Nationalities for University of Birmingham UK DeepMind Scholarship:

This scholarship is open to domestic and international students of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Birmingham UK DeepMind Scholarship:

  • Gender: Female identification
  • Financial Need: Demonstrated financial need to cover educational expenses (if required)

Additional Requirements:

  • Offer of Admission: Have a confirmed (conditional or unconditional) offer to pursue the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning program at the University of Birmingham.
  • Residency: Be either:

  • The application deadline is Sunday, July 21st, 2024.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews in late July.
  • Further details about the process will be communicated directly to offer holders.

For UK Applicants:

  • Once you receive your offer from the Admissions Office, you'll get a separate email with a direct link to apply for the scholarship. Existing offer holders will also receive this email.
  • The application deadline is Sunday, August 18th, 2024. (Note: Different deadline than international applicants)
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews by the end of August.
  • Further details about the process will be communicated directly to offer holders.
