For non-EU/EEA students, the tuition fee for all international Master’s programs at the University of Vaasa is €14,000 per academic year. The programs that require tuition fees include:

First-Year Scholarships
€6,000 Early Payment Waiver
All fee-paying students can receive a €6,000 discount if they pay the remaining €8,000 within 21 days of receiving the acceptance letter.
This scholarship is granted automatically when payment is made on time.
€4,000 International Excellence Scholarship
If your CGPA is at least 4/5 (or equivalent), you may qualify for this scholarship.
This reduces your first-year tuition fee to €10,000.
Note: You cannot receive both the Early Payment Waiver and the International Excellence Scholarship.
Second-Year Scholarships
€6,000 Academic Achievement Scholarship
To qualify, you must complete at least 60 ECTS credits in your first academic year.
The remaining tuition fee for the second year will be €8,000.
€1,000 Finnish Language Achievement Scholarship
This is an additional scholarship for students who complete all required Finnish language courses as part of their degree.
If awarded, the remaining tuition fee for the second year will be €7,000.
You must first qualify for the Academic Achievement Scholarship to receive this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission and scholarships at the University of Vaasa, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Hold a relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or university of applied sciences.
Meet the language proficiency requirements as defined by the university.
Non-EU/EEA studentsmust pay tuition fees unless they belong to one of the following categories:
An EU/EEA citizen or a citizen of Switzerland.
Hold a permanent residence permit (P type) or a continuous residence permit (A type) in Finland for purposes other than studies.
Possess an EU Blue Card.
For scholarships, students must demonstrate academic excellence, timely payment of tuition fees, and/or completion of required credits in their first year.
Who is Exempt from Paying Tuition Fees?
You do not need to pay tuition fees if you:

Application Procedure
Scholarships are applied for along with the Master's program application. You must indicate your interest in the scholarship on your online application form.
Application Deadlines
Rolling Admission: October 21, 2024 - March 31, 2025 (for students with degrees from outside Finland)
Joint Admission: January 8, 2025 - January 22, 2025 (for all applicants)
