The Nursing Administration pathway develops skills in leadership, strategic management and operational oversight of nursing services. Core topics include organisational behaviour and leadership in healthcare, healthcare finance and resource management, health policy and law, quality improvement and patient safety, healthcare informatics, research methods for evidence-based practice, and ethical issues in nursing administration.

The programme balances theory and applied practice through advanced seminars, a leadership-focused research project or capstone, and a supervised administrative practicum or residency in a clinical or organisational setting. Courses emphasise decision-making, workforce management, interprofessional collaboration, budgeting and performance measurement, and delivering care in culturally and linguistically diverse communities, reflecting the regional context of the university.

Entry requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the United States or equivalent licensure for international applicants.
• A bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution or an equivalent qualification recognised by the university.
• A competitive undergraduate GPA; programmes typically expect a solid academic record in nursing coursework.
• One to two years of clinical nursing experience is strongly recommended and often preferred for admission.
• Submission of official transcripts, a current résumé or curriculum vitae, a personal statement outlining leadership goals and reasons for pursuing the MSN, and professional references or letters of recommendation.
• International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through recognised tests (where applicable) and provide credential evaluation for foreign degrees.
• Some applicants may be invited for an interview; standardised test scores (e.g. GRE) are accepted only if required and are not universally mandated.
